The Laser Hair Removal Process
Laser hair removal is usually performed over a series of appointments for best results. Once completing your initial treatment, touch-ups are required throughout the year to maintain hair reduction. During your consultation, we will evaluate your skin type, the area to be treated, and the density, color, and texture of your hair.
The melanin in hair absorbs light from the laser, which damages the hair follicles. This blocks future hair growth and leads to hair reduction. Because hair grows in stages, multiple rounds of treatment are needed to address every follicle of hair over time.
There is no downtime after treatment and you will notice results immediately. Some clients experience minor sensitivity or slight redness in the treated area, similar to a sunburn, which resolves within a few hours. We recommend avoiding sun exposure following treatment and wearing a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.
