Face Liposuction Procedure

The procedure starts with our surgeon administering a local anesthetic to help numb the patient. It will enable the patient to experience no pain during the process. The patient will only remember some things about the surgery. A professional anesthesiologist will monitor the patient before, during, and after the face liposuction procedure.

The surgeon will make a tiny incision into the submental crease. There are times when an extra laceration can be made behind the earlobe. The fat will then be suctioned using the vacuum effect of round liposuction. Our surgeon will use dissolvable sutures to help in sealing the incisions.

Aftercare

First 72 Hours


The aftercare starts immediately after the liposuction procedure. Immediately after you return home from the liposuction procedure, you should lie down and rest. You will also have a compression garment to put on along with small drains placed at the surgical point to prevent fluid from piling up. Our surgeons always offer extensive aftercare instructions for your drain sites and incisions.

It is normal to experience mild to moderate pain and discomfort levels. You will always receive prescription drugs to help in managing the pain. In the first three days after undergoing liposuction, you will limit your movement to walking around the house and avoid lifting or stairs.

Week 1 and 2


After a few days, the pain will begin to subside, and you can move around, although the bruising and swelling will still be noticeable. You must maintain your incision sites, wear compression garments, and avoid lifting. Depending on your job type, you can start planning how to resume work after two weeks.

Week 3 to 6


After 3 or 4 weeks, there will be no more pain. Much of the swelling will also subside. You will notice the results improving, and you can walk around the neighborhood and perform some light exercise.

After six weeks, the liposuction recovery will end, and you will revert to normal activities. Our surgeons will provide each patient with a customized recovery plan during the follow-up visits.

Am I a Good Candidate for Face Liposuction?


Face liposuction works well for individuals at or near their ideal body weight and has excellent skin elasticity. Since the liposuction procedure is specifically not designed for removing excess skin, the patient’s skin needs to be able to tighten after removing the fatty deposits.
